About the Project
Plus Power is developing a 250 MW / 1,000 MWh state-of-the-art battery storage system named Laurel Creek Energy Storage (Laurel Creek) that will provide clean, firm capacity to the Virginia grid, as well as additional energy and grid services. The facility will enhance grid reliability and enable the integration of additional variable generation resources. The facility is a standalone energy storage project, not co-located with solar or other generation. Situated near existing electrical infrastructure, outside the flood plains and with no impact to wetlands or forests, the Laurel Creek project site is an optimal location for new energy infrastructure.
